Welcome to our information pages for our 2020 Annual Conference
Our Annual Conference 2020 will be held on 25 and 26 June.
Join us as we present an exciting programme of online presentations from leading experts in environmental law starting at 4pm on Thursday 25 June and concluding at 5pm on Friday 26 June. Our 6 plenary sessions will address a range of topical themes for environmental law, including the opportunities and threats posed to the environment by Covid 19.
- The Rule of Law and the Environment
- The Marine Environment
- A look at Environmental Law around the world
- Covid 19 impact
- Environmental Regulation and Net Zero
- Climate Resilience
We are also very pleased to welcome our keynote speaker - Lord Carnwath of Notting Hill, our President, who will reflect on Climate Change and the Law in his address on Friday morning. Fresh from his retirement from the UK's Supreme Court, his presentation should not be missed! We will welcome Paul Rose, explorer and presenter, as our After Dinner speaker on Thursday evening. Relax with one of our suggested menus at home, whilst hearing from Paul.
Of course, our conference weekend would not be complete without our Working Party sessions - join them over Friday lunch for in depth exploration of key topics.
It's not all about learning! We also have some social aspects to enjoy. We will share recipes for meals, cocktails and mocktails. Join us for a short yoga session on Friday morning, chat to each other and our trustees in our breakout rooms and renew acquaintances. Social distancing will not stop us from being together.
Donate Now! We hope you might feel able to make a small donation to UKELA to help us weather the storm. UKELA is a registered charity with limited resources, so any contribution, however small, would make a big difference and allow our hardworking staff team to continue to provide top quality events and other content for you.
