Green Match Fund Campaign 2021 – 22 to 29 April

‘One Donation, Twice the Impact’

We are thrilled to have been chosen by The Big Give to receive match funding from the inaugural Green Match Fund 2021.

DONATION PLEDGES RECEIVED FROM: Sir Crispin Agnew Bt, Pamela Castle OBE, Wyn Jones, Dr Richard Kimblin QC, Professor Robert Lee, Robert McCracken QC, Professor Colin Reid, Kirsty Schneeberger MBE, Alison Boyd - thank you to them all. If you would like to make a pledge, please get in touch.

How can you help?

If just 100 of our members donated £25 towards this fundraising drive, we would raise enough to reach our match funding total – remember, every pound raised will be matched by the Green Match Fund up to a total of £2,500! So, your donation is doubled without you having to do anything – how brilliant is that! And, of course, any additional funds raised will all help us to get our project underway and allow us to realise our goal sooner. As well as making a donation, we would love it if you could help us spread the word about our fundraising campaign. Look out for our social media posts and share them with your followers.

What are we Fundraising for?

Our key charitable objective is to provide public information about environmental rights and responsibilities in a clear and accessible way. We said in our recent 5 year Strategic Plan that we would provide clear and accessible information, so we have been working hard to make sure our websites and social media output is up to date, inclusive and accessible to a diverse audience. But we have very limited resource to continue and need vital funding to continue this important work.

Communication via websites and social media has only increased in importance over the last year.   Keeping our community spirit alive and having our expert voice heard is more crucial than ever. Fundraising via the Green Match Fund will help kick start the next phase of our update.

How will we fix this?

We will engage a professional digital designer to help us refresh our output. Alongside this, dedicated staff resource will be allocated to bring the project to fruition in the time frame.

Key aims of our strategy are to provide clear and accessible information, ensure the charity has effective UK wide influence and remains committed to a diverse and inclusive organisation, both among the membership and through our output, both digital and in all other aspects.

What will be the impact of this work?

This fundraising drive will give the charity the kick start it needs as we continue in our mission to make better law for the environment. Our important work in this area contributes to the UK's drive towards a net zero economy, meeting climate emissions goals, by using the law to effect change for the greater good. Our independent and expert voice will be all the clearer.

How can you donate?

The Big Give has a special fundraising week for the Green Match Fund, starting on World Earth Day, 22nd April at midday. The donate button on our campaign page will go live at that point and you can make your donation – don’t worry about missing the big day, we will send plenty of reminders and have a countdown on our website and social media. Donations will be accepted for a week until midday on 29th April, so there is plenty of time to make your own contribution and to help us spread the word. Our campaign page is here: The Big Give - join UKELA's fundraising drive!

Is Gift Aid included?

Yes! If you are a UK tax payer and meet the criteria for adding Gift Aid to your donation, then we will benefit from the additional funds raised. When making your donation, you will be asked to complete a Gift Aid declaration – so please boost your donation by 25p of Gift Aid for every £1 you donate, if you can.

Thank you!

Thank you for any donations and support you are able to give, it really is appreciated. We are always so grateful for the continuing and generous support our members give us.
